Intercultural Festival Assembly

We held a special assembly on the last day of our Intercultural Festival. All of the classes performed their songs, poems and dances that parents so kindly taught them in the weeks running up to the Festival.

Intercultural Festival Projects

All of the boys and girls have been working so hard on their class projects. Their projects were displayed in the school hall for all of the other pupils to see as well as parents too! 


Múinteoir Amanda's junior infants learnt all about Indian traditions and animals. 


Múinteoir Ailish's class learnt all about Poland and the traditional clothes worn in Poland on special occasions. 



Múinteoir Niamh's senior infants completed their project on Ireland and focused on Irish traditions. 



Múinteoir Ciara's class learnt all about the Latvian flag and Latvian culture. 



Múinteoir Michelle and her class chose Jamaica as their country. They learnt about Jamacan animals, food and the flag. 



Múinteoir David's first class completed their project on Romania. 

 

Múinteoir Danielle's class learnt about Uganda and England. 


 

Múinteoir Niamh's second class picked two countries to study -Hungary and Russia.


Third class worked very hard on their projects learning all about Lithuania and the Czech Republic. 




Múinteoir Aoife's fourths class were so busy working on their three projects. They learnt about Zimbabwe, Moldova and Italy. 


Múinteoir Claire's class chose their countries to learn about for the Intercultural Festival - Poland, Pakistan and Nigeria. 
















World Food Day

Well done to all the pupils and parents who brought in delicious food from all around the world. They boys and girls had a great time tasting all the treats!
Senior Infants had lots of different treats to taste! First Class had a fantastic selection of deserts to choose from!
Second class enjoyed sharing the tasty treats during circle time.

Learning about Jamaica

First Class learnt about Jamaica today as part of the International Festival. Thank you to Howard (Kayla's Dad) for coming in and telling them all about Jamaican culture and traditions.

Chinese New Year

Múinteoir Aoife's and her fourth class have been learning all about the Chinese New Year and the famous traditions associated with this festival. 


Learning about India

Junior Infants are learning lots of interesting facts about Indian food, clothes and festivals in India. One of their pupil's parents came in to teach them all about India. She wore a beautiful Saris, a traditional Indian dress. She taught us lots of interesting facts and a lovely song, 'Vande Mataram'.
They also learned a nursery rhyme in Hindi called 'Dhobi Aaya' .
